Ok ok, so here is the starting of the concept work for Ed, the character has been given the given traits to work with.
1. The head needs to recede back into the body - almost as it protrudes out of a mass of muscle , about a hunch.
2. It has to be wide, the arms have to have an appearance of support.
3. There are no legs.
So for this design i have gone with an earthen feel , almost mossy skin. The final effect will be that of a translucent moss skin over the top of the pectoral muscles which will be an intense deep red , almost black. I have given the character a very sunken crease in the face and a cage on the outside...to be edited later today

OK! Lets go...this is a priority one!

So I'm back again for the final year at Lincoln Uni and i have hit the floor running- at a pace i mite add too!
so what's going on so far i hear you say, well i have plowed my way through many ideas, designs, and psd files. I have already had an agreement to come up with concept ideas and designs for my friend Ed as this will count as the 20% of work i need to produce for the Client and Team unit of the course.Ed is a 3D modeler and has given me an open idea to work with, though i have been working side by side for a few days now and we have narrowed down the design to a really meaty muscle head of a character, and that is my specialty! (Ever since i first watched an episode of Dragonball Z and picked up my first pantone pen).
On the topic of my own work its moving through many motions and stages- i have worked through ideas of Modeling an ice hotel environment using SSS (sub surface scattering)to create some nice lighting - through to a breakdance - and finally the cliche of a wizard and a small dog as a helper, but for now I'm under pressure to come up with a solid story for them to participate in! until next time..
